The Shout That Comes From Knowing - Shout For Joy To The Lord
"Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture." PSALM 100:1-3 · NKJV
This is one of the shortest psalms and one of the loudest. Five verses. No lament, no petition, no backstory. Just pure, unguarded, full-throated joy. The kind that doesn't need a reason assembled first — because the reason is already known. He is good. His mercy endures. His truth runs through every generation. The shout isn't working itself up to believe something. It already believes. It's just letting it out.
Let us serve the Lord with gladness. Not reluctance, not obligation, not the grim determination of someone trying to earn something. Have gladness in your hearts. The joy in this psalm isn't a feeling to manufacture — it's a response to what is already true. He made you. You belong to Him. His mercy outlasts everything that has ever tried to wear it out.
Sometimes you need to let the shout come before the feeling catches up. Declare it anyway. Sing it anyway. The gladness has a way of arriving once you've started moving toward it.
At some point today, say it out loud — even alone in your car or your kitchen: The Lord is good. His mercy endures forever. Say it like you mean it. Let it reset something.
Scripture Promise:

Prayer:
Father, thank you for being good to us. Thank you for your mercies and your truth that endures forever. All of our praises belong to you. In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.
