More Than Our Borders

"God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations." Psalm 67:1-2 NKJV

This is a priestly blessing — ancient words spoken over a people who are learning that the God who chose them did not choose them to keep Him to themselves. The harvest has been good. The fields are full. And instead of turning inward in gratitude, the psalmist turns outward. The blessing was never meant to stop here. It was always meant to move.

We tend to pray for blessing as a destination — something we arrive at and settle into. But this psalm prays for blessing as a conduit. Bless us so that Your way may be known. The favor on your life has always had an address beyond your own household, your own comfort, your own circle.

Your story of what God has done in you is not just for you. Someone around you is still in the dark, still searching, still waiting for someone to show them that God's way is real and good and worth choosing. You are part of how He gets there.

Think of one person in your life who doesn't yet know the goodness of God. Pray Psalm 67:1-2 for them today by name. Ask God to make His face shine toward them through you.

Scripture Promise

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."Matthew 5:16 NKJV

Prayer:

Father, help me to be a light to those around me. Even when I stumble and fall, I pray that your grace will lift me up and continue to shine until I see your face, until I hear well done. In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen
