What God Has Done for You

“O My people, remember now...that you may know the righteousness of the LORD.”
— Micah 6:5, NKJV (excerpt)

There is something heartbreaking about the question God asks His people through Micah: “O My people, what have I done to you? And how have I wearied you?” Imagine hearing those words from the One who delivered you from slavery, opened the sea before you, fed you in the wilderness, and remained faithful through years of rebellion. God was asking His people to remember their history together. They had become so accustomed to His blessings that they were losing sight of the love behind them. He wanted them to remember the God who had never stopped caring for them.

How easily we can do the same. Life becomes difficult, prayers seem unanswered, and disappointment begins to cloud our view of God. We remember what He hasn't done according to our expectations while overlooking the countless ways He has carried us. Think about your own journey for a moment. How many times has God sustained you through circumstances you never thought you would survive? How many doors has He opened, dangers has He kept you from, or burdens has He helped you bear? Some of His greatest acts of faithfulness may be the ones you never recognized because you were too focused on what was going wrong.

Then consider Calvary. Long before you knew you needed saving, Jesus had already chosen to give His life for you. Every time we question whether God truly loves us, the cross stands as His answer. Have we become so occupied with what we are waiting for God to do that we've forgotten what He has already done to bring us back to Himself? Remembering His faithfulness does something beautiful to the heart. It reminds us that the God who loved us enough to die for us can still be trusted with the life we place in His hands.

Look back over your life and identify three moments when God's faithfulness carried you through. Thank Jesus for those moments, and allow the memory of His love to strengthen your trust in Him today.

Scripture Promise:

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” — Psalm 103:2, NKJV

Prayer:

Father, thank you for your faithfulness. Teach me how to see what my eyes cannot see. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
