Say What God Said
“And Micaiah said, ‘As the LORD lives, whatever the LORD says to me, that I will speak.’”
— 1 Kings 22:14, NKJV
Imagine walking toward a room where everyone has already agreed on what should be said. Four hundred prophets have given King Ahab the answer he wants to hear. Then the messenger beside you quietly offers some advice: Let your word be like theirs.
It would be easier to agree. Safer too.
But Micaiah has already settled something in his heart: “Whatever the LORD says to me, that I will speak.”
There comes a point in our walk with God when we have to decide whose voice matters most. It is easy to follow Christ when His Word agrees with what we already want, when obedience costs little, and when the people around us understand. The deeper test comes when Jesus leads us somewhere our preferences, culture, or even people we respect would rather not go.
Jesus knew that pressure. He stood before religious leaders who rejected His words, crowds who misunderstood Him, and eventually Pilate, who had the power to condemn Him. Yet Jesus never changed truth to make it easier to receive. He remained completely surrendered to His Father.
That same Christ calls us to follow Him.
Sometimes the greatest danger is not openly rejecting God. It is allowing so many other voices into our hearts that His becomes one opinion among many. We ask what everyone else thinks, what feels comfortable, and what costs the least, when the question that matters most is still: What has God said?
And when His Word confronts something in us, will we still want to hear it?If following Jesus required you to stand alone for what He has said, would His voice still be enough?
Notice which voices carry the most influence over your decisions. Bring them before Christ and ask Him to give you a heart that values His Word above approval, convenience, and your own preferences.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for giving me the strength to do what you have instructed me to do through your word. Help me to always trust and obey. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
