Seek Me
“For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: ‘Seek Me and live.’” — Amos 5:4, NKJV
Bethel. Gilgal. Beersheba.
The people know the sacred places. They know where generations before them encountered God. They know where to go and what religious activity should look like.
Then God says something startling: “Seek Me.”
They have been seeking religious places while missing the God those places were supposed to lead them toward.
We can do the same thing. We can seek answers from God, blessings from God, healing from God, direction from God, and still spend surprisingly little time seeking God Himself.
Jesus understood how easily our hearts chase what He can provide. After feeding thousands, crowds searched for Him again. Jesus exposed the deeper issue: they wanted more bread. He wanted them to recognize the Bread of Life standing in front of them.
Imagine for a moment that the answer you want does not come today. The door stays closed. The situation remains unchanged.
Would Jesus Himself still be enough reason to seek Him?
Spend time with Christ today without beginning with your requests. Seek His presence, His character, and His heart. Let Jesus Himself be what you came for.
Scripture Promise:
“You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:13, NKJV
Prayer:
Father, your word tell us to seek You while you may be found and to call upon You while you are near. Lord help me to follow those direction daily as time is winding down. Thank You for the call. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
