Two Masters
“Their heart is divided; Now they are held guilty.” — Hosea 10:2, NKJV
The altars are still there.
Israel has not stopped being religious. They still know the language of worship and still claim the God who brought them out of Egypt.
They have simply made room for other gods.
That is what makes a divided heart so dangerous. It can remain close enough to God to look faithful while quietly giving its deepest loyalty somewhere else.
Jesus later put the issue plainly: “No one can serve two masters.” Eventually one will receive the devotion that belongs to the other.
Our idols may not stand on stone altars. They can sit much closer to the heart. Success. Money. Approval. A relationship. Control. Even our own plans can become so important that obedience to Jesus depends on whether He interferes with them.
Christ gave Himself completely for us. He did not love us with a divided heart, and He does not invite us into a divided relationship.
So perhaps the question is deeper than whether you love Jesus.
What has the power to make you tell Jesus no?
Ask God to reveal anything that has gained too much authority over your heart. If He identifies something, surrender it rather than defending it.

“Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8, NKJV
Prayer:
Father, let me heart and devotion be to you only. Satisfy me so that no other 'gods' come before you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
