Walk With Me

“And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?” — Micah 6:8, NKJV

The questions keep getting bigger.

What should I bring before God? Thousands of rams? Ten thousand rivers of oil? What could possibly be enough?

Then Micah brings everything back to something beautifully simple: “Do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.”

Walk with God.

Those two words can disappear beneath the familiar verse, but they may be the heart of it. God is not merely giving His people a list of behaviors to perform. He is calling them into a life lived in His presence.

Jesus would later walk along the shores of Galilee and say, “Follow Me.” His disciples learned Christ by walking with Him—watching how He treated people, listening to His words, seeing His compassion, and allowing His presence to reshape them.

We can become so busy doing things for God that we neglect simply walking with Him. Yet justice, mercy, and humility are meant to grow out of that relationship. The closer we walk with Jesus, the more His heart should begin appearing in ours.

Maybe the question isn’t simply, “What am I doing for God?”

When was the last time you slowed down enough to simply walk with Him?

Invite Jesus intentionally into the ordinary parts of your day. Talk with Him, listen through His Word, and ask Him to make your heart more like His.

Scripture Promise:

“Abide in Me, and I in you.” — John 15:4, NKJV

Prayer:

Father, thank you for always walking beside me, even when I forget that you are. Help me become more aware of your presence and teach me how to walk along side my fellow man. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
