The Rhythm of Surrendering Your Future

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” — Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)
There are times when I think about what’s ahead and realize how much I don’t know. The future can feel uncertain, and that uncertainty can quietly create anxiety. It raises questions about what will happen, how things will work out, and whether everything will fall into place.
Surrender speaks into that space with a different response—trust. God is already ahead of every moment that feels unclear. He sees what cannot be seen yet and is working in ways that may not be obvious right now. His plans are not shaped by uncertainty but by purpose, and they are rooted in peace.
Placing your future in His hands brings a steady confidence. It shifts the focus from trying to figure everything out to trusting the One who already knows. The future may be unknown, but it is not unguarded.
Place your future into God’s hands in prayer today.
Scripture Promise (NKJV):
“The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever.” — Psalm 138:8 (NKJV)
Prayer:
Father, thank you for not only knowing the future, but also for having good plans for me. Teach me to rest in that assurance.
Amen.
