April: Surrender

The Rhythm of Surrendering Comparison

"They, measuring themselves by themselves… are not wise." — 2 Corinthians 10:12 (NKJV)

I've done it more times than I can count — scrolled past someone's highlight reel and felt that quiet shift inside. Like suddenly my own life looked smaller. My progress felt slower. My gifts felt less.

Comparison has a way of doing that. It doesn't announce itself. It just slips in and starts measuring your behind-the-scenes against someone else's best moment. And before long, you're not even running your own race anymore. You're watching theirs.

What I'm learning is that surrender here looks like coming back to yourself. Back to the path God specifically designed for you, with your timing, your gifts, your story. Nobody else was given what you were given. Nobody else is being asked to do what you're being called to do. Your journey doesn't need to look like anyone else's to be meaningful. It just needs to be yours.

Find one thing about your own journey worth celebrating today — something only you could have walked through. Sit with it. Let it be enough.

Scripture Promise:

"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." — Psalm 139:14 (NKJV)

Prayer:

Father, thank for you for making me who I am. Help me to not want to be like anyone else except when it comes to being like Jesus.

Amem.

Stay in Rhythm. Stay in Grace.
