IT IS NOT GOOD TO BE ALONE
"The Lord God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone.'" — Genesis 2:18
This is the first time in the entire creation story that God said something was not good. Not the darkness — He used that. Not the empty sea — He filled it. But aloneness? That, God would not leave unaddressed. Before sin entered the world. Before the Fall. Before any need for repair — God looked at His created being and said: this is not complete without community.
You were designed for connection. Not just connection with God, but connection with people. You were made to need others — to be known, to be seen, to be accompanied on this journey. Isolation is not strength. Walls are not wisdom. The tendency to disappear when things get hard is not independence; it's a wound trying to protect itself.
My friend, who has God placed in your life? Who is walking this season with you? And perhaps more importantly — whose life are you walking in? God built the need for companionship into the very beginning. Don't fight the design. Lean into it.
Reach out to one person today who has been on your heart — someone you've been meaning to call, someone you know is going through something. Don't wait for the perfect time. Just connect.
Scripture Promise:
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up." — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10
Prayer:
Father, thank you for giving us community. For the people who walk with us in all seasons of life, to encourage and uplift us. Thank you for the Holy Spirit who never leaves us alone, but guides us to and along the right paths. Lord, help us to lean into you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Stay in Rhythm. Stay in Grace.
