HE BREATHED AND YOU BECAME
"Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." — Genesis 2:7
Every other act of creation happened by God's word. He spoke the sky and it appeared. He spoke the sea and it filled. He spoke the animals and they walked. But when it came to you — to humanity — God got close. He knelt down in the dust. He shaped with His hands. And then He leaned in and breathed.
There is something deeply personal about breath. You don't breathe from a distance. When God breathed life into Adam, His face was near. His breath was warm. He was close. And that intimacy wasn't an accident. It was a declaration. God wanted to be near you from the very beginning.
My friend, the same breath that animated the first human being is what sustains you right now. Every breath you take is a reminder that God is still near. He hasn't stepped back. He hasn't grown distant. He is as close to you today as He was in that garden — leaning in, sustaining you, breathing life into every moment.
Take ten slow, intentional breaths today. With each one, whisper, "Thank you." Let each breath be a prayer of gratitude to the God who made you come alive.
Scripture Promise:
"The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life." — Job 33:4
Prayer:
Father, thank You for every breath that I am privileged to take each day. Let me never forget that You want to be close to us, even when we choose to go our own way. Lord give me the desire to abide in You always. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
