"So He said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus." — Matthew 14:29 (NKJV)
Sometimes the hardest part isn’t hearing God—it’s moving when He speaks. That quiet nudge, that inner pull, that moment where you know you’re being called forward… and everything in you hesitates.
Peter stood in that tension. The wind was still strong, the waves still moving, and the boat still right there behind him. Yet one word from Jesus shifted everything—“Come.” Peter had to decide if he would stay where it felt safe or step into something he couldn’t control.
There are moments in our lives just like that. Staying where you are feels easier, but growth and breakthrough are waiting on the other side of your step. When you step out of the boat, you place your trust fully in God, and that’s where you begin to experience Him in a deeper way.
What step have you been putting off? Take one step today, even if it feels small. Trust that God will meet you there and carry you forward as you walk in faith.
Scripture Promise:
" When you pass through waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you." — Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV)
Prayer:
Father, give me courage to step where You call. Courage to trust when there's noise all around me. Help me to walk in the peace You alone provide.
Amen.
