The Mountain Where Waiting Begins
“Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11, NKJV)
The wind moves first. Your eyes are still adjusting to the light coming up over the Mount of Olives, and the ground is cool under your sandals from the night before. Ten other men stand around you, all facing the same way, all holding the same breath. It's been forty days of this. He appears, He vanishes, He appears again. Proof stacked on proof that the tomb didn't win. Now He's standing right in front of you, close enough to touch the mark in His hand if you dared.
Someone next to you can't hold it in. “Lord, is it now? Will You restore the kingdom now?” You lean in for the answer too, because it feels like this has to be the moment.
He doesn't answer the question. He answers what you actually need. It isn't for you to know the times. What you get instead is power. A Helper, not a throne. A calling to witness, not a kingdom you can point to. Then, right in front of you, He starts to rise. This isn't like the other times He disappeared. He's lifting, going up, until a cloud wraps around Him and the sky is just sky again.
Imagine you're still craning your neck when a voice beside coming from someone you didn't even see come up, asks the question you didn't know you needed. Why are you standing here staring into heaven?
My friend, where are you standing today looking up, when Jesus has given you the power of His Holy Spirit to conquer this world. Go as He commanded you. And make no mistake, He will come again just as He said - I will come again. Be ready.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.” (Acts 1:8, NKJV)

Father, even as I lift up my heart to heaven, let me eyes, feet and hands be about your business. Thank you for allowing me to take part in this ministry gospel. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
