Faithful in the Small Things
"Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business."
— Acts 6:3 (NKJV)
It's easy to believe that serving God begins with a platform, a title, or a position of influence. Yet the early church reminds us that some of the greatest spiritual leaders first distinguished themselves through ordinary acts of service. The seven men chosen in Acts 6 were not selected because they sought recognition. It was because they had already demonstrated faithfulness in the responsibilities before them.
God is far more interested in our character than our credentials. He watches how we serve when no one is applauding, how we respond when the task seems insignificant, and whether we remain dependable when the work goes unnoticed. The small assignments He places before us are often preparing us for greater opportunities we cannot yet see.
Never underestimate what God can do through a life that is consistently faithful. The work may seem ordinary today, but in God's hands, ordinary faithfulness becomes extraordinary ministry.
Serve wholeheartedly in one task today that may otherwise go unnoticed. Whether at home, at work, or in your church, choose faithfulness over recognition, remembering that God sees every act of service.
