When God Answers Anyway
Anchor Scripture (NKJV)
"Now when Peter had come to himself, he said, 'Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.'" — Acts 12:11 (NKJV)
Peter sleeps between two soldiers, chained on both sides, with his execution only hours away. The church is awake. They're gathered in a house, praying earnestly for the man they love. They know God is able to deliver him, but somewhere between hope and fear, they've begun preparing themselves for another outcome.
Then God answers. An angel enters the prison. Chains fall away. Iron gates open on their own. Peter walks into the night a free man and makes his way to the very house where believers are praying for his release.
He knocks. Rhoda hears his voice and runs to tell everyone. "It's Peter!" No one believes her. The people who had just been asking God to rescue Peter couldn't believe He had already done it.
How often does my faith look the same? I know God is able. I know His promises. I pray because I believe He hears me. Yet when He answers in ways I never expected, or at times I never imagined, I find myself just as surprised as those first believers.
This story reminds me that the strength of my prayers has never depended on the strength of my faith. It has always depended on the faithfulness of my Savior.
Jesus is not limited by hesitant faith. He invites us to pray and it's not because we have perfect confidence. It is His perfect power that never fails. Even when our faith trembles, His hand never does. He remains faithful to His character, His promises, and His children.
Perhaps today you are praying for something that seems impossible. Keep praying. Because even when your faith is not flawless, your Savior is.
Bring your greatest burden to Jesus today. Pray honestly, even if your faith feels small, and trust that the God who hears every prayer is able to accomplish far more than you can imagine.

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." — Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)
Prayer:
Father, help me to believe that you are more than able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above anything that I can ask, according to Your will. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
